05/01/10: Krispy Kreme

Remember the days when you walked into a birthday party seeing boxes of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on the table? Sure, they may look delicious at the moment, but after eating 2 or more, you start to feel sick. The reason for that is because the amount of sugar added to each doughnut is more than our bodies can handle. Just one original glazed doughnut contains 200 calories, 12g fat, 22g carbs, and 2g protein. The various types of doughnuts range from 200 to 410 calories each. It raises one’s insulin level by deep frying, bleaching starch, and coating it in pure sugar.

Krispy Kreme currently operates 11 stores in Southern California. To compete with stores such as Dunkin Donuts, Tim Hortons, or Starbucks, they developed a new product called the “Krispy Kreme Burger.” It’s just a typical bacon cheeseburger, with replaced buns by two glazed doughnuts. This $4.50 juicy goodness packs well over 1,000 calories.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are, with no doubt, on the top of the list for top 10 most unhealthy snacks. Here is a site that lists all the ingredients they add in a single glazed doughnut: http://www.zeer.com/Food-Products/Krispy-Kreme-Doughnuts-Original-Glazed.... Next time think twice before you place two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in your shopping cart, or just simply snap back to reality and picture everything you’re taking in.
